All hail the Capitol Pachyderms (DC Elephant Polo), winner of the 11th place (certainly not the first, but also not the last) and "Best Dressed Team " trophies!

The King's up Tournament was AMAZING. Highlights included scoring our first goal, winning our first game (admittedly during a penalty shoot-out), getting to know the elephants, sunrise hikes to an Akka hill tribe village, day trips to Myanmar, and too many excellent evenings to list.

We also managed to improve our game (a bit), doing better each time until we were able to score goals, stop the other team from scoring against us, and ultimately won against the team that defeated us during the first day (admittedly during a penalty shoot-out).

In the end we came in 11th, which certainly wasn't the best, but also wasn't the worst. We also won the "best dressed team" trophy, which was an unexpected, and pleasant, honor.

All in all, we had a wonderful time and helped raise enough money for the Thai National Elephant Conservation Center to buy an elephant ambulance (not exactly inexpensive).
